Revolut customers trying to check their crypto and stock investments on Tuesday morning found their portfolio balances missing. Several users told BeInCrypto that their investment screens had gone blank as a major outage hit the financial platform.
For crypto investors, the timing of such failures is critical. Bitcoin and other digital assets trade around the clock. Prices can change sharply while customers struggle to see their holdings or execute trades.
Revolut Investors Report Missing Balances and Trading Failures
Revolut’sofficial status page confirms that cryptocurrency and stock trading are partially unavailable.
The problems extend beyond the customers who spoke to BeInCrypto.
In aPortuguese Reddit discussion, one investor reported that their crypto and ETF holdings were visible, but attempting transactions triggered errors.
Another customer in Francereported problems with Revolut X, the company’s dedicated cryptocurrency trading platform.
The full scale of the trading disruption remains unclear. Revolut has not confirmed how many investors are unable to execute orders.
We are currently experiencing a service disruption affecting multiple services. We can confirm that all our customers’ money and data are safe. We’ve been working to fix the issue since it was identified this morning and apologise to anyone affected and for any inconvenience… — Revolut (@Revolut) October 20, 2026
Google Cloud Failure Hits Crypto Trading
The disruption appears linked to a majorGoogle Cloud outage in London, which began at 7:08 a.m.
Google reported widespread service errors and intermittent network failures in its European infrastructure.
A person familiar with the situationtold Reuters that Revolut’s problems were connected to the cloud outage.
There is no evidence of any failure on Bitcoin, Ethereum or other blockchain networks. The incident exposes how investors’ access to crypto still depends on centralized financial platforms and their technology providers.
Meanwhile, Revolut customers have also reported failed card payments, inaccessible bank accounts and disrupted transfers across Europe.
Revolut says customers’ funds and data remain safe. Its engineers are working to restore services, but no recovery time has been confirmed.
How long the outage lasts and how it’s managed could decide whether crypto traders continue to rely on such centralized neobanking platforms for their assets.
