The Nasdaq-listed SOL treasury firm was the only blockchain infrastructure company in Hong Kong's 2026 strategic enterprise batch

A Nasdaq-listed company that used to be called Helius Medical Technologies now carries a strategic seal of approval from the Hong Kong government.

Solana Company (NASDAQ: HSDT) has been recognized as a strategic enterprise by Hong Kong’s Office for Attracting Strategic Enterprises, better known as OASES. Alongside that designation, the firm has opened an office in the city to act as its Asia-Pacific headquarters.

The detail that stands out: Solana Company was the only blockchain infrastructure firm in the 2026 OASES batch.

The new Hong Kong office will serve as the executive hub for the company’s operations across the Asia-Pacific region.

The centerpiece of that plan is something the company calls the Pacific Backbone. It is an initiative to develop low-latency infrastructure linking four major financial centers: Hong Kong, Seoul, Tokyo, and Singapore.

The Pacific Backbone is aimed at staking and validation services. On a proof-of-stake blockchain like Solana, validators are the operators who process transactions and keep the network honest. Staking is how token holders put their coins to work backing those validators, typically in exchange for rewards.

The company is also expanding its validator operations. That includes partnerships with the Jito Foundation, a name familiar to anyone who follows Solana’s staking ecosystem.

On the balance sheet side, Solana Company holds more than 2.2 million SOL tokens.

Joseph Chee, the company’s Chairman and CEO, pointed to Hong Kong’s rapid progress on digital assets as a key reason for the move. He also stressed the city’s standing as a global financial center.

The firm says its broader goal is to build institutional engagement within compliant frameworks.

The company shifted its focus to a Solana-centric strategy in 2025. The rebrand to Solana Company came in September 2025. It followed a funding round that exceeded $500 million.

As the only blockchain infrastructure firm in the 2026 OASES batch, Solana Company has a head start on positioning itself as a go-to partner for compliant Solana staking in Hong Kong.

The milestones worth tracking are concrete. Watch for progress updates on the Pacific Backbone, new validator partnerships beyond the Jito Foundation, and any announced institutional clients in Hong Kong.
