LG CNS, which has worked on blockchain-based financial infrastructure since 2015, launched its KITL institutional digital-asset platform earlier this month.

LG CNS, LG Group’s South Korean IT-service arm, is teaming up with Chainlink to develop digital asset infrastructure for local banks and financial institutions. The move targets stablecoins, tokenized securities and interoperability between blockchain networks, the companies said Thursday.

As part of the partnership, LG CNS will incorporate Chainlink’s oracle and cross-chain technology into its digital asset platform solutions for Korean institutions. The companies also plan to support the adoption and distribution of Korean stablecoins in a market with more than 11 million eligible users.

South Korea is one of the world’s most active digital asset markets, with technical and regulatory initiatives advancing. According to Chainalysis, the country’s crypto economy grew about 12% to $449 billion between July 2025 and June 2026, outpacing other East Asian markets.

LG CNS supports financial institutions in building blockchain-based digital asset services that integrate with existing financial infrastructure. The company is the lead contractor for Project Hangang, a Bank of Korea initiative focused on digital currency systems and bank participation.

“By combining LG CNS’s institutional expertise with Chainlink’s technology standards, this partnership establishes the foundation for compliant digital asset infrastructure in Korea,” Johann Eid, Chief Business Officer at Chainlink Labs, said. “Together, LG and Chainlink are providing Korean institutions with a secure and reliable foundation for moving tokenized money across systems and networks.”

Chainlink and LG CNS will work on technical standards for South Korea’s digital asset market, which could help financial institutions build systems that can support regulated digital assets and work across different networks.

“Korea’s financial infrastructure is entering the tokenization era. LG CNS is committed to leading this transition, and together with Chainlink, we aim to accelerate the growth of Korea’s tokenized securities market by enabling secure interoperability and real-world data, while creating a foundation for global expansion,” Hongkeun Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of the Digital Business Division at LG CNS, said.

LG CNS has developed blockchain-based financial infrastructure since 2015 and recently introduced KITL , a platform for institutional digital asset use cases.

The company has also partnered with the Canton Foundation to promote institutional adoption of the Canton Network in South Korea, including work with local banks and financial institutions.
