Elon Musk on Thursday said SpaceX will probably reach a valuation of more than $100 trillion in less than 10 years. He is confident in the company’s massive growth, provided there is no major world war.
“Unless there is a major world war, SpaceX probably gets to >$100T in <10 years,” SpaceX CEO wrote in a post on X on October 15. The remark came in reply to a user highlighting comments from billionaire investor Ron Baron.
Ron Barron recently said SpaceX could be worth $20 trillion to $50 trillion in 10 years. He expected Starlink alone to potentially reach a $14 to 15 trillion valuation. Elon Musk viewed these figures as too low. Musk had earlier replied “Yup” to Baron’s assessment.
Elon Musk’s SpaceX secured Federal Communications Commission (FCC) approval to launch 15,000 Starlink Mobile satellites . Next-generation V2 satellites will provide more than 100 times the bandwidth of existing Starlink Mobile satellites.
Ron Baron also expected SpaceX (SPCX) stock at thousands of dollars a share. It currently carries a market cap of almost $2.1 trillion, following its blockbuster IPO in June this year. It made Elon Musk the world’s first trillionaire when combined with his Tesla stake.
Recently, Elon Musk claimed that he sees a path to SpaceX being worth “orders of magnitude more than the current Earth economy.” He clarified that the statement reflected possibility rather than high confidence.
Elon Musk earlier said internal projections point to $1 trillion in annual revenue by 2030, with a “non-zero chance” of reaching it in 2029. The prediction is based on growth in Starlink broadband, launch services, and AI-related computing capacity.
He has also kept investor hopes of a SpaceX-Tesla merger open. Wall Street and investors’ speculation is growing on a potential merger. The reasons cited include Elon Musk’s dual role as CEO of both, shared AI ambitions, and existing operational ties.
SpaceX stock closed 2.80% lower at $152.16 on Wednesday after hot US CPI inflation data . Wall Street analysts’ consensus is a Buy rating, with an average 12-month price target of $220. Morgan Stanley predicted a price target of $300 for SpaceX stock, citing distributed AI computing opportunities.
