XRP is trading near $1.34 on the daily chart, and a death cross is close. The 50-day EMA is moving down toward the 200-day EMA, and both lines now sit around $1.37 to $1.38. Price is sitting right on top of them. This is the key area to watch.

A death cross occurs when a short-term average falls below a long-term one . Many traders see it as a signal of more downside, but it is a lagging signal. It shows what price already did, not what it will do next. That is why the cross is not final yet.

Look at how the chart got here. XRP jumped from about $1.00 in August to a high near $1.70. After that, it moved sideways for weeks, then lost momentum in early October. Price fell from the $1.50 area to a low near $1.26. This drop pulled the 50 EMA down and pushed it near the 200 EMA.

Now there are early signs of a bounce . The latest daily candle is green and closed near $1.34, well above the recent low. Volume has been small during the pullback, which means sellers are not pushing hard. The RSI is near 40 and beginning to turn up from a low area, so selling pressure is easing.

The plan for bulls is simple. XRP needs to move above both the 50 EMA and the 200 EMA and hold there. If price closes above $1.38 and stays above it, the averages will stop falling and flatten out. The cross could then fail to complete, and the signal would be cancelled. A strong close above $1.40 would make this scenario even stronger, and it would open the way back toward $1.50.

The risk remains real . If XRP gets rejected at the EMAs and falls under $1.30, the death cross is likely to finish. The next support is the recent low near $1.26. A break below that level could point to $1.20 and lower.

For now, the picture is balanced. The cross is close but not done. Price is testing the exact area that decides the outcome. A bounce and a clean move above the 50 and 200 EMAs could stop the death cross from forming. Failing to do so could give bears control. Watch the daily close around $1.38 for the answer.
