The investment aims to speed development of autonomous AI agents that handle HR, IT, finance and procurement work inside large enterprises

IBM Ventures is putting money behind Leena AI, an enterprise software company building autonomous agents for the corporate back office.

Think password resets, benefits questions, purchase approvals and expense queries.

Leena AI was founded in 2018 by Adit Jain, Mayank Goyal and Anand Prajapati. The company is based in New York and San Francisco.

It started out offering relatively simple conversational AI tools. Since then it has moved toward what the industry now calls agentic AI: software that does more than answer questions and instead completes multi-step tasks on its own.

Leena AI brands its agents as “AI Colleagues.” They are autonomous and voice-enabled, and they target back-office workflows across HR, IT, Finance and Procurement.

The platform connects to more than 200 enterprise systems. That list includes ServiceNow , Workday, SAP and Salesforce .

The company also emphasizes human-in-the-loop governance, meaning people can review or step into what the agents are doing. In October 2025, it launched AI Colleague Studio, a tool that lets customers design their own custom agents.

Leena AI reports annual recurring revenue of over $20 million. It also says revenue has tripled over the past 12 months, describing 3x year-over-year growth as of mid-2026.

On performance, the company claims its agents resolve over 70% of support tickets autonomously. It also reports return on investment for customers in the range of 4 to 10 times.

Leena AI says it serves more than 500 global enterprises, with its software reaching over 20 million employees.

On funding, Leena AI has raised approximately $41 million in total. Its most recent disclosed financing before IBM Ventures’ involvement was a $1 million convertible note from Greycroft in April 2026.

The company has also been recognized by Gartner as a Leader and a Pioneer in agentic AI categories.

Before this investment, the two companies had a strategic collaboration on the record rather than a publicly documented equity stake.

That partnership showed up most visibly at HR Tech Expo 2025. There, the companies held a joint session on using agentic AI to improve the employee experience.
