Audited multichain rails now let asset managers issue and run tokenized funds without custom builds

Centrifuge says institutions can now tokenize funds on live, audited infrastructure that spans multiple blockchains. No bespoke engineering project required.

The launch rests on the protocol’s V3 series of updates. Two pieces do most of the work: a programmable vault stack and a hub-and-spoke multichain architecture.

A single control layer handles accounting, pricing and permissions. Investors, meanwhile, can access the fund from whichever supported chain they prefer.

The practical upshot: an asset manager does not need to rebuild its fund for every blockchain it wants to reach. It manages one fund, distributed across many networks.

According to the research findings, the architecture currently supports operations on 13 chains. Centrifuge reported $3.5 billion in cumulative tokenized assets under management as of Q3 2026, along with approximately $1 billion in total value locked.

The platform also counts 45 tokenized assets issued within its ecosystem. It has settled more than 11,900 cross-chain transactions since inception.

The 2026 rollout came in stages, from V3.1 through V3.3. Those updates added new onchain accounting options, onchain mandates and investment vault standards built for institutional needs.

The vault standards in question are ERC-4626 and ERC-7540. They define how a tokenized vault accepts deposits, processes redemptions and reports balances, so other apps know how to plug in.

ERC-7540 in particular covers asynchronous flows. Traditional funds rarely settle instantly, so a standard that tolerates waiting periods fits how real-world asset managers already operate.

New York Life Investment Management tokenized its US High Yield Corporate Bond Strategy, known as HYB, on Centrifuge in June 2026. The firm has since expanded to other chains, including Solana and Avalanche .

Janus Henderson manages Treasury and AAA CLO funds through Centrifuge. CLOs, or collateralized loan obligations, are pooled corporate loans sliced into tranches, and AAA marks the highest-rated slice.

Apollo and Anemoy also run the ACRDX fund on the platform. Taken together, the roster covers Treasuries, structured credit and high-yield corporate debt.

Centrifuge has also lined up partners on the crypto-native side. Coinbase is listed as a preferred infrastructure partner and holds a stake in CFG, the protocol’s token.

Ethena , meanwhile, has a $250 million allocation for investments tied to the platform.

The V3 updates also included a governance restructure for CFG, focused on governance and funding support.

The hub-and-spoke model was first introduced in 2023, per the research findings. The V3 series appears to be the point where that design matured into something Centrifuge is comfortable calling production-ready.

For asset managers, the pitch is about removing friction. If issuing a tokenized fund no longer requires a custom build for each chain, the cost and time to experiment drop considerably.

The unified control layer also addresses a quieter problem. Keeping pricing, permissions and books in one place means a manager can expand distribution without multiplying back-office work.

Centrifuge leans on the fact that its infrastructure is audited, and the 11,900-plus settled cross-chain transactions offer a track record. Still, audits reduce risk rather than eliminate it.

The signals worth tracking are straightforward. Watch whether the count of tokenized assets climbs past 45, whether more managers follow New York Life onto additional chains, and how the CFG governance changes play out in practice.
