The Claude maker told prospective investors that third-quarter revenue jumped 45% to $16.8 billion and that it turned a profit on an adjusted basis
Anthropic wants public markets to value it at more than $2 trillion. That would more than double the price tag private investors put on the company just a few months ago.
The San Francisco-based AI developer, best known for its Claude family of models, made its pitch at a closed pre-IPO meeting for potential public-market investors. The headline number: third-quarter revenue of $16.8 billion, up 45% from the prior quarter, along with a claim that the business is now profitable on an adjusted basis.
Anthropic reported $4.7 billion in revenue for the first quarter of 2026, then $11.6 billion in the second quarter, then $16.8 billion in the third.
Anthropic said it was profitable on an adjusted basis in the latest quarter and generated positive free cash flow. The company reported an adjusted gross margin of approximately 85% and an adjusted operating margin exceeding 11%.
One caveat applies. “Adjusted” figures are numbers the company calculates by excluding certain costs, so they can look friendlier than standard accounting results.
Anthropic also highlighted a compute efficiency figure of $1.70 in revenue for every dollar spent on computing.
Attendees projected the company could reach an annualized revenue run rate of more than $110 billion by year-end. That is a projection from people in the room, not a reported result, and it should be read that way.

The investor meeting took place on October 14, 2026, at Anthropic’s San Francisco headquarters. CEO Dario Amodei and CFO Krishna Rao led the presentations.
Beyond the financials, the pair emphasized two familiar themes: AI safety and the company’s work designing custom chips. Attendees also left with “thinking” caps.
An IPO roadshow is expected to begin the week of November 9. If the schedule holds, trading could potentially start before Thanksgiving on November 26.
Anthropic was valued at $965 billion in its Series H funding round in May 2026. Its target now exceeds $2 trillion.
The adjusted margins will face scrutiny once full regulatory filings are public. Investors will want to see how adjusted results compare with standard accounting figures, and what exactly was left out.
The read-through to competitors is direct. Discussion continues about future listings from other major AI firms, including OpenAI . A strong Anthropic debut would give those companies a benchmark, while a weak one would give their bankers a headache.
Watch whether the roadshow launches the week of November 9, whether pricing holds near the $2 trillion target, and whether shares actually trade before November 26.
