Quack AI [Q] is up more than 83% in the past 24 hours, leading by gains among all top 200 cryptos by market cap. The token has been in a strong uptrend over the past week, with its price now clocking 257% in profits and 661% in 10 days.
Quack AI is an intent-based execution and gasless authorization layer featuring Q402 and x402 sign-to-pay standards across more than 10 blockchains. However, the surge in market cap from $300 million to $633 million did not have any specific fundamental catalyst.
But what was behind this volatile weekly run was the spike in short liquidations. Comparing Q’s Long vs. Short Liquidations in the past 24 hours, it showed 79.33% of sell orders were wiped out as opposed to 20.67% in buy positions.
To be specific, more than $8.912 million in Q shorts were liquidated compared to $2.322 million in long orders. The largest single liquidation was $97.87K. The price continued to push high up while the calls were still on the table.
Additionally, Futures volume was 25.7x that of spot, indicating the market was primarily driven by derivative traders. Even its Open Interest (OI) was 64% of the total cap.
This means that a short squeeze was responsible for the move rather than organic demand. Hence, traders should be wary, as squeezes can run far, but they also reverse fast.
On the charts, the volatility was evident as the Bollinger Bands had opened up on the daily chart. The uptrend followed a sideways range that ran since September 2025.
The RSI Divergence shows bulls are in control since printing the signal early last month. Q hit a new peak of $0.1456.
But the price targets remain open as the altcoin’s historical levels are fresh. The 428% surge in daily volume and 122% uptick in mindshare could help sustain the uptrend.
While Q is surging, some investors are hinting at profit-taking, which could induce selling pressure. For instance, Gate’s hot wallet received 13.82 million Q, valued at $1.80 million.
Additionally, millions of Q tokens were transferred to Bitget’s deposit address, with the latest being 2 million coins. Every time Q pumps, these wallets are there to sell into it.
Thus, exchange-related distribution is still the main risk for Q, and a heavy sell wave could hit fast.
